Boycott Call vs. Arizona Puts Spotlight on the Strategy

A young couple dashed onto the outfield during the fifth inning of a recent Washington Nationals game and tried to unfurl a banner protesting Arizona's tough new immigration law.

Amid the dueling jeers and cheers of fans who did get the message - the Nats were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks, weren't they? - there was puzzlement of fans who had no idea what the ruckus was about.

What does immigration have to do with baseball? And is this rowdy national roadshow of protest any way to win supporters and influence policy?
