It may not be their most pressing concern but Michiganders overwhelmingly support Arizona's immigration law.
And they’d like to have one of their own.
An EPIC/MRA poll of 600 likely voters last weekend showed that nearly three-fourths favor the Arizona law and two out of every three state residents would support a similar law being approved by Michigan lawmakers. The poll has a margin [1] of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
State Rep. Kim Meltzer, a Macomb Township Republican who has sponsored legislation in Lansing similar to the controversial Arizona statute, said she’s not surprised because people are fed up.
